ESCAMBIA COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY'S FEBRUARY 2010 MEETING:
Pensacola—The Escambia County Republican Executive Committee will hold its regularly monthly meeting at 7:00pm on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Hancock Bank (formerly People’s First Community Bank) at 940 Creighton Road. The Executive Committee welcomes Doug Broxson, Republican candidate for Florida House of Representatives, Dist. 1, as featured guest speaker. Visitors welcome. PRESS RELEASE: ESCAMBIA GOP ELECTS NEW OFFICER
Pensacola—The Escambia County Republican Executive Committee announces that Kevin Brown was elected by unanimous consent of the Escambia County Republican Executive Committee as Treasurer on Monday, January 11, 2010. Upon resignation of Escambia County GOP’s treasurer last fall, Mr. Brown was appointed as interim Deputy Treasurer by local GOP Chairman Susan Moore to serve in that capacity until a formal election could be held. The Chairman commented, “Kevin has been an active, enthusiastic member of Escambia County’s Republican Executive Committee since the day he joined and I am pleased that he will now serve on the Board of Directors of the local party as the guardian of our finances. I appreciate all that Kevin has done for the local Republican Party so far and I know that he will continue doing great things as we begin what promises to be an exciting election year.”
Kevin Brown is a financial services representative for MetLife in Pensacola. He is a member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Board of Directors of the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce, is a member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola and previously served as Youth Outreach Coordinator for the Escambia County Republican Executive Committee.
The Fil-Am Republican Club will meet Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 7:00pm at IHOP Restaurant located at Navy Boulevard and Gulf Beach Highway (across from the Warrington Fire Station). Dinner will begin at 5:00pm (Dutch treat) and the meeting will begin at 7:00pm.
It is expected that the following elected officials will be in attendance: State Representative Clay Ford (and wife, Carol), State Representative David Murzin, Escambia County Commissioner Wilson Robertson (and wife, Anne), Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino (and wife, Maureen) and Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan (and wife, Susan). The following candidates are also expected to be in attendance: Mike Hill, candidate for FL Senate; David Karasek candidate for State Representative District 2; Clay Ingram, candidate for State Representative District 2; and John Krause, candidate for US House of Representatives District 2.
